Earl Pumping Station
Following a pause to our works as part of our response to the COVID-19 outbreak, we have resumed some construction work at our Earl pumping Station site. We have introduced several additional precautions so that our team can do this work safely.
Over the last few months we excavated the shaft to 50 metres. Around 580m3 of concrete was poured continuously to construct the base slab; a reinforced concrete structure at the bottom of the shaft.
Our next phase of works will be to construct the secondary lining portals at the bottom of the shaft. The tunnel will pass through these portals on its journey under the Earl Pumping Station site towards Chambers Wharf in Bermondsey.
All non-essential staff who can work from home are doing so.
If you have any questions about this or our site at Earl Pumping Station please get in touch with our helpdesk on 08000 30 80 80 or [email protected]
