The team at Barn Elms completed the new changing rooms and handed the keys over to London Borough of Wandsworth. The old changing rooms were then demolished so the site team can access the main construction area.
To date the site team completed the 34m deep excavation of their shaft. Last summer the site completed the construction of the 212m connection tunnel, which will connect to the main super sewer in the next couple of months.
The connection tunnel was created by a Pipe Jacking Machine. You can read about the delivery of the Pipe Jacking Machine here.
Secondary lining to the connection tunnel has started and is progressing well. The construction of the Kiosk, which will house the mechanical elements of the connection tunnel, has begun and the main walls and roof have been completed. The team are focusing on completing this work.
