Carnwath Road Riverside

Rachel, one of the six Tunnel Boring Machine’s (TBM), began her journey in May 2019, towards Acton. She will be resurfacing next year at our Acton Pumping Station site.

At the site above ground, the site team have almost completed the installation of the conveyor system and the new muck bin is ready. The conveyor system will be taking the spoil from the tunnel, which is being bored by Rachel, and placed into a barge, or into a muck bin if the barge is full.

For more information, look at the latest CLWG presentation on the tab below.

Tunnelling will begin again week commencing Monday 22 July.

Our standard working hours are (with a 1-hour mobilisation period before and after these times):

  • Monday – Friday: 8am – 6pm

  • Saturday: 8am – 12 midday

Additionally, we have maintenance periods on the weekend:

  • Saturday: 1 – 5pm

  • Sunday: 10am – 4pm

When we begin tunnelling we will be working 24-hours a day. This will be taking place predominantly underground.
