A new fund for community groups in Lambeth aiming to boost social cohesion and improve people’s lives is being launched by Tideway, the company building London’s super sewer.

The fund is the latest in a range of community investment initiatives following a similar programme in Wandsworth and with the Our Space Awards.

Now, Tideway is inviting community groups in Lambeth to submit their applications for a grant of up to £5,000, for a small number of projects (with a turnover of up to £50k) that meet one or more of the objectives: bring communities together; upskill the younger generation; improve health and wellbeing; and connect people to the River Thames.

Tideway is working with Integrate CIC, which manages Lambeth’s Voluntary and Community Sector to engage local charities and other organisations about the fund.

Eoin Heffernan, CEO from Integrate CIC, said: “Lambeth has so many small groups that can create incredible value for local residents and address important needs in our community. Funding that supports these local charities and social enterprises is hugely welcomed and we look forward to working with Tideway as they make important local investments that make a lasting impact in Lambeth.”

Applications are open from today (July 18th) and will close at 5pm on September 2nd. Applicants will also have a chance to ‘meet the funder’ in a virtual event on August 15th.

Interested parties should ensure their applications meets the eligibility criteria outlined in this document, ensure their proposed activity fits the funding priorities, and clearly highlights the expected outcomes of the project, before submitting the application form.

Successful applicants will need to deliver their projects between October and February 28th, 2023.
