Towering Success at Albert Embankment

Towering Success at Albert Embankment

A giant riverside tower crane has been installed at Tideway's construction site along Albert Embankment.

The 21m tall crane was delivered by barge and assembled on a cofferdam – a dry working area built out into the river – just north of Vauxhall Bridge. It is the only tower crane to be stood on the river on the project.

A 50-metre-long jib will service excavation and construction of the interception chamber, which is being built to intercept the sewage overflows underneath Vauxhall Bridge and connect to the main tunnel running underneath the Thames.
