The Victoria Embankment Foreshore site is on the northern bank of the River Thames. It comprises a section of the foreshore and a section of pavement and roadway on Victoria Embankment.

Hoarding at Victoria Embankment

If you have walked past our site at Victoria Embankment, you may have noticed our striking new hoarding. The hoarding allows us to keep our site safe and secure, but it also provided us with a huge canvass to celebrate images of the Thames close to this site, as well as drawing attention to the historical significance of the area. You can watch a video about our hoarding here.

Victoria Embankment Foreshore - Site Information

What are our working hours?

Standard working hours are 8am to 6pm Monday-Friday and 8am-1pm Saturday.  Also, there is a 1 hour mobilisation period before and after the Standard Working Hours, plus maintenance periods on Saturday 1-5pm and Sundays 10am-4pm.

There will be 24-hour working during the construction of the connection tunnel.

How are we using the river?

We have committed to using river transport as much as possible to reduce the number of heavy goods vehicles on the roads.

For Victoria Embankment Foreshore we anticipate an average of two barges will access the site per day, subject to the tides, with each barge taking approximately 56 heavy goods vehicles off the road.

An anticipated daily average of five heavy goods vehicles will access the site. This will rise to approximately 14 heavy goods vehicles per day over an estimated three month period during the construction of the cofferdam and other structures.
