Tideway employee runs 46km past Tideway sites to raise money for charity

A member of the Tideway team has run more than 46km and visited (almost all) Tideway's sites as he prepares for the London Marathon in October – and raised more than £400 for charity in the process.

Pierre-Edouard Denis, who works on the eastern section of the project, is running the London Marathon in October on behalf of WellChild, a charity that provides essential practical and emotional support for seriously ill children, young people and those who care for them across the UK.

And as part of his training programme, Pierre-Edouard set himself a mammoth challenge to run along the Tideway route from Acton to Abbey Mills.

Last week Pierre-Edouard ran past 21 (of the project's 24) sites, covering 46.26km in around four hours and 20 minutes.

Along the way, he had a chance to make new friends from across the project – indulging on one doughnut, three biscotti and an Italian espresso!

The feat raised also raised £400 for WellChild. Speaking about the experience, Pierre-Edouard said: “What an amazing journey! I met so many fantastic people and saw for myself how much progress is being made on our sites. Thank you for your smiles and support, it really helped me to complete the challenge!"
