Independent Advisory Service (IAS)

The Independent Advisory Service gives independent advice to those affected by Tideway works. The team can help with the following;

  • Tideway mitigation and compensation policies, explaining how they work and how you may benefit from them.

  • How you could be affected if you live above or near the tunnel route and are concerned about the potential impact. They can help answer your questions about ground settlement and subsoil acquisition.

  • How you could benefit from our Exceptional Hardship Procedure if you are thinking of selling your property.

What type of mitigation/compensation can I ask for?

This depends entirely on your circumstances and how the works are affecting you. Each case is different. Some residents have requested secondary glazing or blackout blinds for their property, others a brief stay away from the site during the noisy, more disruptive works. It really is a personal decision about what is most appropriate for you.

The Independent Advisory Service is provided by a dedicated small team working in a company called Livingcity. We are completely independent from Tideway. None of the Tideway team work for the IAS. Our team of specialists can help you understand your rights and explain the next steps to you.
