Hammersmith Pumping Station
At our Hammersmith Pumping Station site, the connection tunnel from the site to the point where it will meet the main tunnel, was completed in April 2019. The next phase of work, the secondary concrete lining (SCL), began in May 2019. The SCL will secure and strengthen the tunnel, before the joining the main Super Sewer.
Work is also continuing inside the Interception Chamber.
For more information, look at the latest CLWG presentation on the tab below.
Concrete Breakout Works
In the coming weeks, we will be starting works to break out a concrete lining wall within the Interception Chamber.
We need to carry out essential maintenance on the cables located on the roof of the existing Thames Water Pumping Station.
During August 2019 we will be extending our site into the Thames Water pumping station compound.
Extended Working Hours
As part of our tunnel works, from Monday 17 June we will be extending the working hours until the end of September 2019 whilst we carry out our secondary lining.
Our standard working hours are (with a 1-hour mobilisation period before and after these times):
Monday – Friday: 8am – 6pm
Saturday: 8am – 12 midday
Additionally, we have maintenance periods on the weekend:
Saturday: 1 – 5pm
Sunday: 10am – 4pm.
We will be working 24-hours a day for approximately nine months. This will be taking place predominantly underground as we construct our tunnel.
On average, we have approximately six heavy goods vehicles accessing the site. More up to date information about the vehicle movements can be found within the CLWG presentations.
The next Hammersmith Pumping Station CLWG will be on Tuesday 24 September, 7-9pm, at The Distillers (64 Fulham Palace Rd, London W6 9PH).
