At our Hammersmith Pumping Station site, the connection tunnel from the site to the point where it will meet the main tunnel, was completed in 2019. Autumn 2019 saw the site complete the secondary lining of the connection tunnel. The first for the whole project! The secondary lining secures and strengthens the tunnel, before the joining the main Super Sewer.
Additionally, the site team have completed the secondary lining of the shaft. Our Hammersmith site are continuing work inside the Interception Chamber.
From Monday 16 March we will begin piling works.

Our standard working hours are (with a 1-hour mobilisation period before and after these times):
Monday – Friday: 8am – 6pm
Saturday: 8am – 12 midday
Additionally, we have maintenance periods on the weekend:
Saturday: 1 – 5pm
Sunday: 10am – 4pm.
We will be working 24-hours a day for approximately nine months. This will be taking place predominantly underground as we construct our tunnel.
On average, we have approximately six heavy goods vehicles accessing the site. More up to date information about the vehicle movements can be found within the CLWG presentations.
As a precautionary measure due to the current public health situation, our Community Liaison Working Group meetings are currently postponed.

Our Hammersmith team are committed to managing our works and mitigating any impacts. Examples of measures we currently have in place include:
The contractor liaising and coordinating with the Fulham Reach Developer regarding community liaison and communications with local residents and stakeholders
Hoarding which has been erected along the site boundary
The site offices are positioned along the northern boundary of the site to screen Chancellor’s Road from construction activities
The use of surface cranes are minimised outside of standard working hours
Limits have been set to control activities, such as noise (Section 61 approval) from LB Hammersmith and Fulham
