Meet the team

I work as pit bottom charge hand at Carnwath Road in Fulham, and have been in construction for 28 years after starting as a labourer working on Heathrow Terminal 4 in the early 90s. My role in Tideway sees me manage a small team in the shaft, hosting visits and supervising personnel in and out of the worksite. I'm a proud Welshman, and I split my time between my family in Snowdonia, north Wales and London, where I manage a close-knit team at one of Tideway’s key sites.

I work for construction firm Jacobs and am a project manager at one of Tideway’s key construction sites – Earl Pumping Station, managing all aspects the programme, from health, safety and wellbeing to the interface with Thames Water. Before joining Tideway in 2017, I worked as a design manager for Taylor Woodrow and previously as a graduate engineer and engineer at Capita Property and Infrastructure. I was born in London and was a karate champion at school, and have a passion for live music, spending my summers camping at festivals.

I am a section engineer working at Tideway’s Carnwath Road site in Fulham, following a 15-year-career in England which has seen me working on a variety of major UK infrastructure projects including Crossrail, the Woolwich Ferry and Heathrow Airport. I studied for my degree in civil engineering in India, and have a Masters in quantity surveying. I live in Wembley with my family and spend my free time playing and watching cricket.

I have worked on the Tideway project for six years, providing legal support for all the super sewer project’s operations, including procurement, property, finance and insurance. Prior to joining Tideway, I worked as a solicitor for a number of firms, including Taylor Rose, Zurich Insurance and Glovers and even started my own jewellery company, which I sold in 2014. I also have extensive experience volunteering, working as a trustee and board member with Art Refuge UK, which supports displaced children and young people in Nepal and India through art programmes.

I am a chartered civil engineer who studied in Pakistan before completing my Masters degree in London, where I have worked in the infrastructure sector for 15 years – including on Crossrail and the London Underground. My role on Tideway as Construction Engineer NEC Supervisor ensures work is completed safely, accurately and to a high standard. I live with my family and can be found playing cricket or cooking traditional Pakistani food.

I have worked on Tideway for four years, having joined the project through a returner programme. Through my career, I have worked on global campaigns for brands such as British Airways, Virgin and Shell, as well as Breakthrough Breast Cancer and others in the non-for-profit sector. I have a deep interest in the arts, with an MA in Arts Policy and Management, and am passionate about Tideway’s public art legacy, while my role also involves managing Tideway’s brand assets, facilitating and commission design work and leading on campaigns to promote and celebrate Tideway’s work to clean up the Thames.

I'm an engineer who graduated from the University of Greenwich in 2016 and my career has seen me working on a diverse range of projects – from Crossrail as a student, to the new nuclear power plant at Hinkley Point and later to highways in Hampshire. I now work as a shift manager on the super sewer in Fulham and live with my family in south-west London.

I joined Tideway in 2015, before the project obtained its licence awarded, and have spearheaded the company’s green and sustainable finance programme, as well as our ESG rating and reporting. Prior to joining Tideway, I spent many years in investment banking, advising infrastructure projects throughout Europe, the Middle East and Africa. I joined the project after a career break during which I volunteered for school libraries and a long-term unemployed men’s charity. More recently, I have joined the Environment Agency’s board in a non-executive position – a role I regard as the perfect accompaniment to Tideway’s sustainability pathway. I left Lisbon, Portugal, in the mid-nineties for ‘just a couple of years’ and I now love the London life, but regularly return to see my family… and the beach.

I'm a Section Engineer currently working at Tideway’s Fulham site, Carnwath Road, where I oversee works relating to the shaft and the concrete batching plant. I previously worked as an engineer with the Environment Agency, where, as part of my studies with the ICE (Institution of Civil Engineers), I worked on the Tideway project for a placement. I enjoyed my time on the project so much, I decided to join full time. I'm originally from Greece, I love music and my favourite band is Radiohead.
